Last week’s teaching in the UPOP session went great. I got a chance to get to meet a bunch of undergrad students and work closely with a group of eight of them. My role was guiding the students in completing a series of simulation games (ie. beer game, role playing games, etc). The goal of the program was to teach them various of soft skills they can use for their summer internships.

Every time I’m involved in a teaching/mentoring endeavor, I realize how much I enjoy playing that role. The course also gave me a greater sense of appreciation of how important communication skills are within an organization, regardless of the role you are playing in a team. I really enjoyed seeing the kids stretching themselves, and I hope to keep in touch with all of them.
